At Church of the Holy Spirit, we believe ministry happens most effectively in teams. It takes many teams to make our worship services and other ministries happen here and we would love your help.  Participating in a team is a great way for you to get involved and meet people.  To learn more about particular teams, use the page navigation bar above (white text on burgundy background), or visit our ministries overview page.

There are three practical reasons for using teams:

1. Support:

"If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." -Eccl. 4:10-12

2. Protection:

"Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed." -Prov. 15:22

3. Encouragement:

"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." -1 Thess. 5:11

We believe that there are two reactions to guard against:

Do it yourself-ism; people tend to fall into this trap for several reasons:

• You may feel that it is easier in the short run.

• You may feel that no one will want to help you.

• You may feel that you can do it better yourself.

• Sitting back and not investing yourself, because you don't know how.

There are several opportunities and ways to join the rest of us at Holy Spirit who are "searching for answers and connections." We've found the best way is for you to just jump in to one of our ministries and get involved...the answers come through the connections. They come through times of worship, through teaching, through opportunities to serve others, and through friends you meet along the way and in small groups.
